Health Economic Modelling

Economic models play a vital role in enabling decision-makers to assess the value of a treatment or intervention and to understand the impact it could have on healthcare budgets and resources.

In my work I use a range of methodologies – including decision trees, Markov models and simulations – to demonstrate how diseases progress, how treatments are delivered and what this means, over time, for both the costs of care and the outcomes for patients.

I’m experienced in applying all the established techniques for economic modelling in healthcare – including cost-effectiveness and cost-utility analysis, and budget or resource impact analysis. I deliver these as both interactive digital models and peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals.

Through my economic modelling work I provide the makers of drugs, devices and digital health applications with transparent, robust and highly credible evidence of the value and impact of their innovations.
